See what Apopka has to offer...
Apopka shares measurably in our state's vast citrus industry. Farming also contributes greatly to the economy of the city of Apopka. Excellent outdoor recreational activities are available in abundance in the Apopka area. Apopka has many stable financial institutions. Among them are: Bank of America, SunTrust, 5/3 Bank, Washington Mutual, United Heritage, Colonial Bank, BankFIRST, AmSouth Bank, People's First, Central Florida Educator's Cr edit Union, Fairwinds Credit Union, and McCoy Federal Credit Union will open its new branch in 2005. All these establishments have attractive buildings, large parking lots, and many drive-in windows. art_show.jpg (19516 bytes)As Apopka has grown materially, her educational and religious facilities have grown, too. Our schools are considered one of the best in Orange County and our students have the opportunity to become good citizens of tomorrow in superior surroundings. Climaxing this growth, the City purchased the old Apopka School site for a new City Complex. The main building has been remodeled into a Georgia Colonial-style City Hall, and a new building was added to house the Fire Department and Emergency Operations center. The Police Department remodeled a nearby building for its operations center.
Visitors and natives alike sing the praises of Apopka's outdoor recreation. Some of the best bass fishing in the the world is within minutes of the city limits. Golfing, hunting, swimming, boating, and skiing are all enjoyed in our many near by lakes and rivers.
